A 4 acre lake with a max depth 7 foot min 2 foot with channels, bays, plateaux in a bay with sharp drop off and 3 islands. The lake contains approximately 119 carp of which 60% are 20’s or better, the lake record is 27lb 8oz with 33lb being the biggest stocked carp.
The fishery has good facilities including secure car parking with CCTV, toilets, shower block, food & refreshments (Hot and cold sandwiches, drinks and confectionery), tackle and bait delivery to the swims.
Ticket Prices are dawn to dusk = £16 and 24 hours = £25.

Fir Tree Lodges
Two lakes in the Appley Bridge, Wigan which contain carp to 25lb though the average is low doubles, I believe Scots pine has the larger fish. This is not really a hardened carpers fishery as no boilies or nuts are allowed but a nice place to test your float fishing skills also ideal for pole anglers. Wyreside Lakes Fishery
Not to be confused with Wryeside Fisheries above these lakes were created from former poor agricultural land after extraction of sand and gravel by Tarmac Roadstone Ltd. The first fish were introduced in 1984 (Mirror carp weighing up to 1.5 lbs) and they have thrived in the lakes, growing and breeding in a spectacular manner. Some of these original fish now weigh in the region of 40 lbs.
